New Parking Garage for Commuters and Future Residents of the New Jersey Transit Village

Dailey Precast, along with JEMCO Erectors and developer Avalon Bay, has topped off the new “North” parking garage for commuters and future residents of New Jersey Transit Village, located in Somerville, New Jersey. Erecting on the North parking structure officially started at the beginning of March 2021 and was completed just a month later on April 2, with 455 pieces erected safely over 24 days. The North structure contains approximately 400 parking spaces and five elevated levels. Work on the South structure is now underway.
Dailey Precast received a Notice to Proceed for this structure in December 2019, with the original goal of June 2020 to start erecting. The COVID-19 pandemic impacted the original start time of construction, delaying it by approximately nine months. While the design process was being completed, Dailey Precast had to delay the purchase of any construction-related items and resources. The exterior of the garage contains thin brick detailing, which was a challenge faced in this project due to the long lead time totaling several months.
