Dailey Precast Completes Parking Garages for AvalonBay Residential Wrap Projects

Dailey Precast has completed several parking structures for residential “wrap” buildings developed by AvalonBay Communities, Inc., with additional project work underway.

A wrap-style structure includes an above-ground parking garage that is fully or partially surrounded by residential units. A wrap development offers several advantages for dense urban and suburban lots, including indoor, secure access to the parking area by the building’s residents, and a means to visibly shield the parking area from passersby and vehicular traffic.

For AvalonBay’s developments in Teaneck and Maplewood, New Jersey, Dailey Precast offered high-quality features and expedited processes that met the development’s team ambitious construction schedule.

The Teaneck project (click below to enlarge photos) bordered a rail line, so the garage was positioned alongside the railroad track for almost the full length of the building, providing a sound barrier for the residential complex.

In Maplewood (click below to enlarge photos), the new parking structure borders an adjacent parking deck on the neighboring property, allowing the residences to overlook other more scenic parts of the neighborhood.
