Experience Case Study

Parking Structure Construction in Tight Area near Hospital in White Plains, NY

Key Issues

The project faced certain challenges including:

  • A postage stamp size lot
  • Site is on a one-way street
  • Located directly across from the White Plains Hospital’s Dickstein Cancer Center main entrance.

Logistics Criteria

The project design required a precast solution for large canopies over both pedestrian and vehicular entrances.

Design Logistics

Dailey Precast designed a mold which seamlessly integrated with the contemporary facade of the garage. The precast solution conveyed architectural intent, provided structural stability and exceeded the client’s expectations.

Introduction

The City of White Plains, NY had a requirement to construct a nine-story parking garage

The Dailey Precast design team met with City Of White Plains officials, White Plains Hospital Dickstein Cancer Center management, local police, local first responders, and construction team members to clearly understand their respective concerns. Dailey mapped out a traffic control and erection plan and conducted a “dry run” with a truck and trailer to ensure the plan safely met the needs of all parties.
